Why Indonesian feed mills buy rice DDGS from India

• A large, import-dependent market: Indonesia imported over 1 million tonnes of DDGS in 2024, almost all of it from the United States. Indian rice DDGS gives buyers a second origin.
• A substitute for restricted corn: feed corn imports are limited to the state buyer, so mills use DDGS to cover energy and protein in poultry, fish and cattle rations.
• Higher protein than corn DDGS: rice DDGS carries 40–45% protein, against about 30% for corn DDGS.

Uses
